As a Recitation Instructor

He truly encouraged learning!! He did not give us the answers, but made us truly think and challenged us above and beyond. Such a great instructor, made workshop very interesting!

Daniel Merchant was enthusiastic about class as he readily was prepared for each lecture as well as having explanations for how and why things occur in an angle that reinforced learning.

I appreciate being able to ask questions and felt encouraged to explore beyond the material. I enjoy the HD (hypothesize and diagnose) aspects and Dan was supportive in my exploration of this.

As the Principle Lecturer

This course has definitely taught me how to study smarter as well as harder. The instructor Daniel Merchant was simply excellent in his delivery, enthusiasm, and overall charisma. He knew exactly what he was talking about and had a very positive and open attitude towards feedback.

Always tried to show us job opportunities or volunteer work similar to what we were learning, helped figure out all the cool places we could work at.

When you have a question, he doesn’t explicitly give you the answer. He really tries to help you work through it yourself to generate
the answer on your own which really helps for the answer to stick in your brain.
